Osan City Dementia Care Center, Cognitive Enhancement Classroom 'Finding Hidden Memories' 1st Session Operation···Cognitive Ability Enhancement 2023-11-16



Osan City Dementia Care Center will operate the first 'Find Hidden Memories' program starting on the 6th for the purpose of strengthening cognitive abilities of high-risk dementia patients aged 60 or older in the city who have not been diagnosed with dementia.

This 'Find Hidden Memories' is a professional cognitive program that reduces the risk factors of dementia, such as enhancing cognition and relieving psychological depression in seniors at high risk of dementia. It is held twice a week for a total of 8 sessions, every Monday and Wednesday.

Key programs include the use of cognitive learning materials, a structured cognitive program that helps prevent dementia, occupational therapy using COTRAS-G (Computerized Cognitive Rehabilitation System) , and gardening activities that can reduce depression.

Before and after the start of the program, subjective memory decline and geriatric depression scales are assessed to ensure that cognitive function and geriatric depression can be improved simultaneously.


City officials said, “High-risk groups for dementia, such as those with cognitive decline in dementia screening tests and those diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment, have a higher risk of developing dementia than the normal group, so more active management is needed,” adding, “We ask for your interest and active participation.”
